Nice quiet park. Lovely river view. Nice place for a picnic. Restrooms were smelly though.
Honestly though it's a great place to go and just relax by the water, catch some fish or go for a nice jog or bike ride.
This has potential to become a pretty cool park. It just doesn't feel like a very safe place. The bathrooms next to the park looked like something exploded inside there. There are lots of dumpsters, but trash is all around. I didn't head for the trail. The park wasn't empty, but it was mostly guys hanging out in their cars. It really gave me the creeps. I didn't stray to far from my car. Sugar Creek police should have their hands full patrolling this area to keep it safe.
This park has all the makings of being a truly lovely place, with its scenic view of the river and beautiful trees - it's SUCH a shame that it's thickly littered with trash and drug paraphernalia. My mom, who grew up in the area, warned me that this park was not a good place to visit. But - it looked so scenic! And it was all so open and viewable from the highway... I thought maybe she was blowing things out of proportion, and after all, it's been a little while since she was in highschool down here this side of town, right? Surely it wasn't that bad. NOPE. Sorry, Mom - you were right. Despite not seeing anyone glaringly suspicious when we arrived, LO and behold: my seven year old comes running up to me with a USED NEEDLE asking me what it is.
I find the guys in their cars comment amusing. Do you have any idea how many Pokemon go stops are at this park? I bet their eyes were mostly transfixed on their phones.
I love this place. I spend a lot of time here watching the river go by. A lot of the time I’m the last one out of the park at close. I’ve read a lot of reviews that indicated people think it’s a dangerous hangout. Well it’s simply not true. Are there some questionable activities that take place here, my reply is What happens at LaBenite Park stays at LeBenite Park. Haha. Mostly.... Sometimes I take pictures if the guy who “meats me” is cute and photogenic. Two summers ago I went there to see if I could find a boy play with and ended up with a beautiful girl instead. She and I were FWBs for almost a year. So Forrest Gumps mama was right. “Life is like a box of chocolates... You never know what you’re gonna get”. And so is LaBenite Park. You never know what you’re going to get a sexy girl or a boy and quite possibly both. I was approached by a couple less than a week ago who were looking for a threesome with a genetic female with a vagina. And I’m transgender so yeah I have a “shenis” therefore I was unable to assist them in their search.
